In our first, true open call, we invited artists who identify as invisibly disabled, and/or closely affected allies who wished to reflect on the theme, to submit work for this exhibition aimed at honoring and bringing activated awareness to experiences of invisible disability. The result is a dynamic group exhibition created by 16 artists in different phases of their arts practices. A selection of artists will contribute audio descriptions, and video and/or written personal narratives that delve deeper into their experiences, during the run of the exhibition.

We are excited to invite the art-loving public as well as our many friends and fans to officially kick off our 13th program year at our annual member artist exhibition and celebration!
Our “Lucky 13th” year – we’ve now survived and thrived for a “maker’s dozen” – promises to be especially serendipitous for our artists and audiences.
Our official “birthday party” will be held open house style in Make Studio’s Showroom gallery at 3326 Keswick Road in Hampden on Saturday, February 25 from 2 to 5 p.m. Attendees are invited to stop by and meet the artists and view their new and notable pieces on display. Free and open to the public, the reception will feature artist remarks (including reflections on luck and superstitions), music from Party Girl Entertainment, fun and interactive art-making, and an array of refreshments including the always popular birthday cake.
Lucky 13 will otherwise be on view during our usual hours and by appointment from February 27th-March 25th, with an accompanying digital exhibition.
