Project Onward supports the creative growth of visual artists with mental illnesses and developmental disabilities. We provide studio space, art supplies, and professional guidance to artists free of charge, and together, we build a place of community. Project Onward also elevates these creators in the art world outside our doors through professional exhibitions, publications, and workshops. Above all, we recognize and seek to convey this art’s aesthetic, economic, and social value. Art is a vehicle for change. The work of neurodivergent creators can transcend boundaries, challenge hierarchies, and broaden our understanding of the experience of being human.
